Give Yourself a Lift: The NON-SURGICAL Facelift is Here!

By Chelsea Campbell

In addition to wrinkles, sagging jowls, the neck area, eyelids, and brows can be a significant indicator of your age. In the past, the only real solution to these woes was the classic facelift, which requires surgery, downtime for recovery, and possible scarring.

Today’s consumers are looking for non-surgical options that rejuvenate and restore the integrity of the skin, instead of just drastically fixing it through surgical means. One of the newest innovations in non-surgical face and neck lifts is a tool called Scarlet SRF. We’ll be exploring what this device does and how it can help you achieve a non-surgical lift!

How it works

The SRF acronym stands for Short-pulse Radio Frequency. This technology uses microneedles to deliver radiofrequency electrodes into the epidermal and dermal layers of the skin. The energy from the electrodes stimulates and helps to thicken collagen and elastin fibers, which in turn tightens the skin.

A physician will use the handheld device to target the area of concern. They will then insert very tiny needles into the skin (don’t worry, they are microneedles!) and deliver a short pulse of radiofrequency energy around each needle. The RF energy then targets the dermal fibers and gets to work tightening. The treatment time takes about 20 minutes for the face and 10 minutes for the neck, and there is absolutely no downtime.

What it does

Once Scarlet SRF stimulates the fiber’s first two layers of the skin, collagen and elastin start to rejuvenate and come together more tightly. This coagulation or thickening of tissue leads to an immediate tightening of the layers of skin that increases over a few months, giving patients a gradually lifted look.

Not only does Scarlet SRF tighten and smooth skin in the body, double chin and neck area, and on the face,  it also helps soften lines and wrinkles and minimizes pores. It can even reduce the appearance of scars and post-acne pockmarks. Especially exciting is the prospect of actually improving and revitalizing skin over time, instead of just “fixing” it.

 Why Scarlet?

Scarlet SRF says they are different because of its use of “independent tissue coagulation” around each microneedle, allowing it to be used effectively on all skin types. Most physicians recommended patients receive three treatments a year for the best results.

Best of all is the comfort experienced with Scarlet. Most patients polled reported little to no pain, and Scarlet boasts the shortest heating time of all radiofrequency devices currently on the market. Unlike other micro-needling experiences, patients will not have bleeding or sensitivity, and the only after-care required is a good sunscreen to protect your skin from future damage.

Although patients still crave immediate results, they are also concerned with the integrity of their treatments and want to see improvements that go beyond a “quick fix”. Scarlet SRF meets both of those demands and proves that with a little technology, you can look better as you age each day.
