Dr. Julio L. Garcia is a Cuban, who emigrated with his family after the collapse of the Cuban government during the take over by Fidel Castro. His father was an orthopedic surgeon in Cuba and his grandfather was also in the medical field. After coming to the United States and growing up in Chicago, Illinois, where he became an American citizen, he completed his medical training and moved to Las Vegas in 1988, entering the private practice of Plastic Surgery.  He has become a nationally recognized surgeon, medical practitioner and business executive who has appeared on the Discovery Channel to audiences of up to 50 million 16 times.  He is an innovator in the application and marketing of surgical capabilities and special treatments to drive both revenues and profits.  He created a leading national practice in wellness and anti-aging, employing surgical and nutritional treatments to limit and reverse aging processes in people of varying ages.  He employed unique applications for special products produced by national medical corporations, as well as developing his own proprietary products.     Dr. Garcia is also a nationally recognized author and lecturer on a variety of medical topics and procedures.  A well-known television host and commentator, he is prized for his knowledge of medicine and his communications ability.  He achieved national recognition for his work as Medical Director of the Anti-aging and Wellness clinic in Las Vegas.  He is a frequent spokesman for the American Society of Aesthetic and Plastic Surgeons, and appeared weekly on his own television program for nearly two years.   
We perform the entire gamut of cosmetic surgery including surgical, minimally invasive, and non-invasive options. Being in practice since 1988, Dr. Garcia has treated thousands of patients from all over the world. To enhance knowledge of his field and of his practice, Dr. Garcia developed, produced and directed a popular local TV program leading to national media recognition.  He encountered the opportunity to promote plastic surgery and personal wellness programs in the community by providing a local cable TV program.  He conceived and developed the show concept, procured talent to interview, produced, directed and hosted a weekly cable TV program. This led to national media coverage of his practice on the Discovery Channel.      He was appointed to the Board of Directors for the Lipoplasty Society of North America, representing practitioners of liposuction surgical therapy across North America.  He advocated transition of organization into a non-profit institution, sponsoring research on the science of liposuction and body sculpting surgery.  He engineered many advances in the process, established a financial endowment, and facilitated liposuction becoming the most popular surgical procedure in North America.  He established a national endowment supporting the science of liposuction and body contouring.  He was later named secretary and eventually chairman of the new non-profit organization. Dr. Garcia is a member of the Board of Directors for the Aesthetic Society Education and Research Foundation, an entity that raises funds to allow plastic surgeons to perform ground-breaking research relative to cosmetic surgery.     On another occasion, Dr. Garcia promoted humanitarian activities of LIGA Corporation, providing underserved areas in Mexico with surgical care..  He also identified the opportunity to provide pro-bono reconstructive surgery services to indigent people in the Philippines.  He conducted various visits to remote sites and conducted surgery on indigent people affected by birth defects, injuries and other deformities.  He performed more than 750 surgeries during these trips.  He aligned his efforts with those of the international charitable organization, LIGA Corporation, leading to enhanced funding for medical treatment activities among indigent people on a global scale.  His contributions were catalogued in the US-Asian Chronicle.    Dr. Garcia enhanced emergency response capabilities for the City of Las Vegas.  He was selected as member of an elite medical team affiliated with the SWAT rapid response intervention security unit of the Las Vegas Police Force.  He is part of a nationally recognized team of physicians and medics who have the  capabilities to respond to local, mass casualty and terrorism situations through service to on-scene, violent activity injuries. He is also involved in the continuing medical education of our military Special Forces medical corps where he performs monthly education to paramedics serving on active duty all over the world, including Navy SEALS, Marines, Air Force Parajumper medics and Army Rangers. Also included is his teaching for the international military divisions of our allies where he teaches advanced wound care to international Special Forces medics at the annual Special Operations Medical Association conference in Tamp, Fla.with surgical, minimally-invasive and non-invasive technologies.   Dr. Garcia is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, and the American Board of Anti-Aging Medicine.   He earned his Doctor of Medicine in 1983 from the University of Illinois at Chicago.  This was complemented by a Bachelors Degree in Biology from Northwestern University.    He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Rocky Mountain Plastic Surgery Society, the Clark County Medical Society, the Nevada Medical Society, the American Society of Aesthetic Surgery, the American Board of Laser Surgery, the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgeons, the Academy of Anti-aging Medicine and the Lipolysis Society of North America.     Dr. Garcia is published in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, as well as Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy medical journals.  He has published 34 articles in health, fitness and media publications.  He delivered twenty presentations to medical and academic society meetings and conventions from 1992 to 2009.  He has appeared on more than 60 television programs.
